What is a #MomentThatMatters?

It might be something big. But often, it’s the smaller moments people remember….

  • A manager who listened instead of immediately trying to find a solution.
  • A colleague who checked in after a difficult day.
  • A training session that suddenly helped someone understand what they had been experiencing.
  • A policy or adjustment that meant someone didn’t have to choose between their health and their career.
  • A senior leader sharing their own experience and making it easier for others to talk.

#MomentsThatMatter are everyday actions that help people feel heard, understood and supported at work and together, they show what being a truly menopause-friendly workplace looks and feels like.

Why they matter

Together, they create lasting culture change

Lasting cultural change takes time. It comes from the right policies, practices, training and working environment – but it also happens through everyday interactions.

It happens when someone feels able to say, “I’m struggling today,” and knows they will be listened to. When a manager asks, “What would help?” When someone hears another person’s experience and thinks, “That’s me.”

Individually, these moments can seem small. Together, they tell us something much bigger: that people feel able to talk, ask for support and know someone will listen.

These are the moments that turn policies into practice and awareness into genuine cultural change. These are #MomentsThatMatter.

More than celebrating

Your moment could inspire someone else

One story can do more than celebrate something that went well.

It can give another manager an idea. Help another colleague understand. Show another organisation what’s possible… Or give someone the confidence to start a conversation of their own.

Throughout October, we’ll be sharing #MomentsThatMatter from individuals and organisations across our community – celebrating the everyday actions that create more understanding and more supportive, menopause-friendly workplaces.

Your moment might just become the idea someone else takes back to their workplace.
